Proverbs 12

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid. 2 A good man obtains favor from the LORD, but a man of evil devices he condemns. 3 A man is not established by wickedness, but the root of the righteous will never be moved. 4 A good wife is the crown of her husband, but she who brings shame is like rottenness in his bones. 5 The thoughts of the righteous are just; the counsels of the wicked are treacherous. 6 The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood, but the mouth of the upright delivers men. 7 The wicked are overthrown and are no more, but the house of the righteous will stand. 8 A man is commended according to his good sense, but one of perverse mind is despised. 9 Better is a man of humble standing who works for himself than one who plays the great man but lacks bread. 10 A righteous man has regard for the life of his beast, but the mercy of the wicked is cruel. 11 He who tills his land will have plenty of bread, but he who follows worthless pursuits has no sense. 12 The strong tower of the wicked comes to ruin, but the root of the righteous stands firm. 13 An evil man is ensnared by the transgression of his lips, but the righteous escapes from trouble. 14 From the fruit of his words a man is satisfied with good, and the work of a man's hand comes back to him. 15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice. 16 The vexation of a fool is known at once, but the prudent man ignores an insult. 17 He who speaks the truth gives honest evidence, but a false witness utters deceit. 18 There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. 19 Truthful lips endure for ever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment. 20 Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, but those who plan good have joy. 21 No ill befalls the righteous, but the wicked are filled with trouble. 22 Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD, but those who act faithfully are his delight. 23 A prudent man conceals his knowledge, but fools proclaim their folly. 24 The hand of the diligent will rule, while the slothful will be put to forced labor. 25 Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad. 26 A righteous man turns away from evil, but the way of the wicked leads them astray. 27 A slothful man will not catch his prey, but the diligent man will get precious wealth. 28 In the path of righteousness is life, but the way of error leads to death.

Sanctus Real - Whatever You're Doing (Something Heavenly)

"I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept his claim to be God. That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to." - C.S. Lewis (Mere Christianity)

Proverbs 11

 1(A) A false balance is an abomination to the LORD,
   (B) but a just weight is his delight.
2(C) When pride comes, then comes disgrace,
   but with(D) the humble is wisdom.
3(E) The integrity of the upright guides them,
   (F) but the crookedness of the treacherous destroys them.
4(G) Riches do not profit in the day of wrath,
   (H) but righteousness delivers from death.
5The righteousness of the blameless(I) keeps his way straight,
   but the wicked falls by his own wickedness.
6(J) The righteousness of the upright delivers them,
   but the treacherous(K) are taken captive by their lust.
7When the wicked dies, his(L) hope will perish,
   and(M) the expectation of wealth[a] perishes too.
8(N) The righteous is delivered from trouble,
   and the wicked walks into it instead.
9With his mouth the godless man would destroy his neighbor,
   but by knowledge the righteous are delivered.
10(O) When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices,
   and when the wicked perish there are shouts of gladness.
11By the blessing of the upright a city is exalted,
   but(P) by the mouth of the wicked(Q) it is overthrown.
12Whoever(R) belittles his neighbor lacks sense,
   but a man of understanding remains silent.
13Whoever(S) goes about slandering reveals secrets,
   but he who is trustworthy in spirit keeps a thing covered.
14Where there is(T) no guidance, a people falls,
   but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.
15(U) Whoever puts up security for a stranger will surely suffer harm,
   but he who hates striking hands in pledge is secure.
16(V) A gracious woman gets honor,
   and(W) violent men get riches.
17(X) A man who is kind benefits himself,
   but a cruel man hurts himself.
18The wicked earns deceptive wages,
   but one who(Y) sows righteousness gets a sure reward.
19Whoever is steadfast in righteousness(Z) will live,
   but(AA) he who pursues evil will die.
20Those of(AB) crooked heart are(AC) an abomination to the LORD,
   but those of(AD) blameless ways are(AE) his delight.
21(AF) Be assured,(AG) an evil person will not go unpunished,
   but(AH) the offspring of the righteous will be delivered.
22Like(AI) a gold ring in a pig’s snout
   is a beautiful woman without discretion.
23The desire of the righteous ends only in good;
   (AJ) the expectation of the wicked in wrath.
24(AK) One gives(AL) freely, yet grows all the richer;
   another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.
25(AM) Whoever brings blessing(AN) will be enriched,
   and(AO) one who waters will himself be watered.
26(AP) The people curse him who holds back grain,
   but(AQ) a blessing is on the head of him who(AR) sells it.
27Whoever diligently seeks good seeks favor,[b]
   but evil comes to(AS) him who searches for it.
28Whoever(AT) trusts in his riches will fall,
   but the righteous will(AU) flourish like a green leaf.
29Whoever(AV) troubles his own household will(AW) inherit the wind,
   and the fool will be servant to the wise of heart.
30The fruit of the righteous is(AX) a tree of life,
   and whoever(AY) captures souls is wise.
31If(AZ) the righteous is repaid on earth,
   how much more the wicked and the sinner!

Stolen Joy

I am currently listening to a sermon series on Joy. Do you really know what joy is? I ask, because I'm not really sure what joy is. I do know that being happy and having joy are two different things. The bible commands us to "count it ALL joy". Even when we are going through tough times, we are still to be joyful through it, but we may not necessarily be happy about it. I am not happy with my current circumstance, but because I have surrendered my life to Christ, I am finding out what joy is. Pray for me today. I received a very hurtful, accusatory e-mail from my own father last night, and I have been really searching my heart for the right attitude in responding. I need to have a joyful attitude, and the only way I can do that is to remember that my heavenly father picks up where my earthly father left off.

James 1:1-4
 2(E) Count it all joy, my brothers,[b] when you meet trials(F) of various kinds, 3for you know that(G) the testing of your faith(H) produces steadfastness. 4And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be(I) perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

Thanks for listening...

Proverbs 10

1(A) The proverbs of Solomon.

   (B) A wise son makes a glad father,
   (C) but a foolish son is a sorrow to his mother.
2(D) Treasures gained by wickedness do not profit,
   (E) but righteousness delivers from death.
3(F) The LORD does not let the righteous go hungry,
   (G) but he thwarts the craving of the wicked.
4A slack hand(H) causes poverty,
   (I) but the hand of the diligent makes rich.
5He who(J) gathers in summer is a prudent son,
   but he who sleeps in harvest is(K) a son who brings shame.
6Blessings are on the head of the righteous,
   but(L) the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.
7(M) The memory of the righteous is a blessing,
   but(N) the name of the wicked will rot.
8(O) The wise of heart will receive commandments,
   but a babbling fool will come to ruin.
9(P) Whoever walks in integrity walks securely,
   but he who makes his ways crooked(Q) will be found out.
10Whoever(R) winks the eye causes trouble,
   but a babbling fool will come to ruin.
11(S) The mouth of the righteous is(T) a fountain of life,
   but the mouth of the wicked(U) conceals violence.
12Hatred stirs up strife,
   but(V) love covers all offenses.
13On the lips of him who has understanding, wisdom is found,
   but(W) a rod is for the back of him who(X) lacks sense.
14The wise(Y) lay up knowledge,
   but(Z) the mouth of a fool brings ruin near.
15(AA) A rich man’s wealth is his strong city;
   the poverty of the poor is their ruin.
16The wage of the righteous leads(AB) to life,
   the gain of the wicked to sin.
17Whoever heeds instruction is on(AC) the path to life,
   but he who rejects reproof leads others astray.
18The one who conceals hatred has lying lips,
   and whoever utters slander is a fool.
19(AD) When words are many, transgression is not lacking,
   (AE) but whoever restrains his lips is prudent.
20The tongue of the righteous is(AF) choice silver;
   the heart of the wicked is of little worth.
21The lips of the righteous feed many,
   but fools die for(AG) lack of sense.
22(AH) The blessing of the LORD makes rich,
   and he adds no sorrow with it.[a]
23Doing wrong is(AI) like a joke to a fool,
   but(AJ) wisdom is pleasure to a man of understanding.
24(AK) What the wicked dreads(AL) will come upon him,
   but(AM) the desire of the righteous will be granted.
25When(AN) the tempest passes, the wicked is no more,
   but(AO) the righteous is established forever.
26Like vinegar to the teeth and smoke to the eyes,
   so is the sluggard to those who send him.
27(AP) The fear of the LORD prolongs life,
   (AQ) but the years of the wicked will be short.
28(AR) The hope of the righteous brings joy,
   (AS) but the expectation of the wicked will perish.
29(AT) The way of the LORD is a stronghold to the blameless,
   but destruction to evildoers.
30(AU) The righteous will never be removed,
   but(AV) the wicked will not dwell in the land.
31(AW) The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom,
   but the perverse tongue will be cut off.
32The lips of the righteous(AX) know what is acceptable,
   but the mouth of the wicked,(AY) what is perverse

Proverbs 9

1(A) Wisdom has built her house;
   she has hewn her(B) seven(C) pillars.
2She has(D) slaughtered her beasts; she has(E) mixed her wine;
   she has also(F) set her table.
3She has(G) sent out her young women to(H) call
   from(I) the highest places in the town,
4(J) "Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!"
   (K) To him who lacks sense she says,
5"Come,(L) eat of my bread
   and(M) drink of(N) the wine I have mixed.
6Leave(O) your simple ways,[a] and(P) live,
   (Q) and walk in the way of insight."
 7Whoever corrects a scoffer gets himself abuse,
   and he who reproves a wicked man incurs injury.
8(R) Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you;
   (S) reprove a wise man, and he will love you.
9Give instruction[b] to a wise man, and he will be(T) still wiser;
   teach a righteous man, and he will(U) increase in learning.
10(V) The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom,
   and(W) the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.
11For by me(X) your days will be multiplied,
   and years will be added to your life.
12(Y) If you are wise, you are wise for yourself;
   if you scoff, you alone will bear it.
The Way of Folly
 13(Z) The woman Folly is(AA) loud;
   she is seductive[c] and(AB) knows nothing.
14She sits at the door of her house;
   she takes a seat on(AC) the highest places of the town,
15calling to those who pass by,
   who are(AD) going straight on their way,
16(AE) "Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!"
   And to him who lacks sense she says,
17(AF) "Stolen water is sweet,
   and(AG) bread eaten in secret is pleasant."
18But he does not know(AH) that the dead[d] are there,
   that her guests are in the depths of Sheol.

Here we are...

Blogging....well, I have never been very consistant with it, but since I am not on Facebook, I need some sort of outlet. A lot has happened in my short life. Drama, scandal, secrets, confession, redemption, and the start of rejuvenation. I have no idea who will follow, but I'm ok with talking to myself. This is all I got for now...no links, no quotes, no revelations...but that will be sure to come.
