Oh Jerusalem Lyrics Lauryn Hill
Oh Jerusalem yeah, oh Jerusalem, oh Jerusalem, oh Jerusalem...
Realizing that there's no place else to go
And there's nobody I know who can help here
Text book solutions are so improbable
Cuz everybody else is just as empty
Naked as the day that I was born, I tried to hide
Behind education and philosophy
Hopeless explanation to describe a situation
I can't see because the world's on top of me
Oh wretched man that I am, who will deliver me
From the body of this death
Freeing me from dust, and the superficial trust
Of an enemy that seeks to take my breath
Failing to connect, cuz I'm morally defect
By reason of the God inside my head
Causing me to see, only what pertains to me
Believing I'm alive when I'm still dead
Limited to earth, unable to find out my worth
Cuz I can't see past my own vanity
If I'm not included, then I just have to remove it
From my mind because it has to be insanity
Oh wretched man that I am, who will deliver me
From the body of this death
Can I even factor, that I've only been an actor
In this staged interpretation of this day
Focused on the shadow, with my back turned to the light
Too intelligent to see it's me in the way
What a paradox, having God trapped in a box
All this time professing to be spiritual
Naturally pretending, that I'm actually defending
God through my façade, only material
Oh Jerusalem, wash thy heart from wickedness
That thou may be saved from thy deception
How long, shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee, oh Jerusalem
Keeping thee from perfection
Submit to truth, leave the deception of thy youth
So we can walk in the council of authority
Forget the proof, a generation so aloof
Only following the steps of the majority
Trust in the Lord, with all thy heart
And lean not to thine own understanding in all thy ways
Acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths
Be not wise in thine own eyes that you can’t follow him
We judge and condemn, just as ignorant as them
Who religion tells us that we should ignore
Perpetrating we're in covenant with Him
Exposed by the very things that we adore
We grin and shake hands, then lay ambush for the man
Who has a different point of view than us
Infuriated cuz he doesn't understand
Bringing up those things we don't want to discuss
Why still do evil, we don't know how to do good
Walking on in darkness running from the light, ey
Led to believe, because we live in neighborhoods
Telling us what's going on will be alright
Oh so repressed, so convinced that I was blessed
When I played with my game of Monopoly
Oh to suggest, that my life is still a mess
To reveal the pride I'm hiding is what's stopping me
Oh Jerusalem, wash thy heart from wickedness
That thou may be saved from thy deception
How long, shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee, oh Jerusalem
Keeping them from perfection
Abide in me and I in you, as the branch cannot bare
Fruit of itself except in the vine
I am the vine, ye are the branches, He that live in me
And I in him, the same bring forth much fruit
But without me, you can do nothing, oh Jerusalem
Your traditions have deceived you
I've chosen you, you haven't chosen me
And whatsoever, you ask in my name he may give to you
But in vain they call my name, teaching doctrines just the same
Justified among themselves
But God knoweth the heart, what man esteems as smart
Is an abomination to Emmanuel
Just repent, turn from selfish motivation
So iniquity will not cause your demise
Make you a new heart and a new spirit for why would He die
Oh Jerusalem, please tell me why
I have no pleasure in the death of Him to die
Says the Lord God whereforth turn yourselves and live
It's not the talkers, but the walkers in His word
Are the only ones the Father will forgive
Oh Jerusalem, wash thy heart from wickedness
That thou may be saved from thy deception
How long, shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee, oh Jerusalem
Providing you no protection
Oh Jerusalem...

I am slacking but here is Proverbs 14
1(A) The wisest of women(B) builds her house,
but folly with her own hands(C) tears it down.
2Whoever(D) walks in uprightness fears the LORD,
but he who is(E) devious in his ways despises him.
3By the mouth of a fool comes(F) a rod for his back,[a]
(G) but the lips of the wise will preserve them.
4Where there are no oxen, the manger is clean,
but abundant crops come by the strength of the ox.
5(H) A faithful witness does not lie,
but(I) a false witness breathes out lies.
6(J) A scoffer seeks wisdom(K) in vain,
but(L) knowledge is easy for a man of understanding.
7Leave the presence of a fool,
for there you do not meet words of knowledge.
8The wisdom of the prudent is to discern his way,
but the folly of fools is deceiving.
9(M) Fools mock at the guilt offering,
but the upright enjoy acceptance.[b]
10The heart knows its own(N) bitterness,
and no stranger shares its joy.
11(O) The house of the wicked will be destroyed,
but the tent of the upright will flourish.
12(P) There is a way that seems right to a man,
but(Q) its end is the way to death.[c]
13Even in laughter the heart may ache,
and(R) the end of joy may be(S) grief.
14The backslider in heart will be(T) filled with the fruit of his ways,
and(U) a good man will be filled with the fruit of his ways.
15(V) The simple believes everything,
but the prudent gives thought to his steps.
16(W) One who is wise is cautious[d] and(X) turns away from evil,
but a fool is reckless and careless.
17A man of(Y) quick temper acts foolishly,
and a man of evil devices is hated.
18The simple inherit folly,
but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
19(Z) The evil bow down before the good,
the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
20(AA) The poor is disliked even by his neighbor,
(AB) but the rich has many friends.
21Whoever(AC) despises his neighbor is a sinner,
but(AD) blessed is he who is generous to the poor.
22Do they not go astray who(AE) devise evil?
Those who devise good meet[e](AF) steadfast love and faithfulness.
23In all toil there is profit,
but mere talk(AG) tends only to poverty.
24The crown of the wise is their wealth,
but the folly of fools brings folly.
25A truthful witness saves lives,
but one who(AH) breathes out lies is deceitful.
26In the fear of the LORD one has(AI) strong confidence,
and(AJ) his children will have(AK) a refuge.
27The fear of the LORD is(AL) a fountain of life,
that one may(AM) turn away from the snares of death.
28In(AN) a multitude of people is the glory of a king,
but without people a prince is ruined.
29Whoever is(AO) slow to anger has great understanding,
but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly.
30A tranquil[f] heart gives(AP) life to the flesh,
but(AQ) envy[g] makes(AR) the bones rot.
31Whoever oppresses a poor man(AS) insults his(AT) Maker,
(AU) but he who is generous to the needy honors him.
32(AV) The wicked is overthrown through his evildoing,
but(AW) the righteous finds refuge in his death.
33Wisdom(AX) rests in the heart of a man of understanding,
but it makes itself known even in the midst of fools.[h]
34Righteousness exalts a nation,
but sin is a reproach to any people.
35A servant who deals wisely has(AY) the king’s favor,
but his wrath falls on one who acts shamefully.
but folly with her own hands(C) tears it down.
2Whoever(D) walks in uprightness fears the LORD,
but he who is(E) devious in his ways despises him.
3By the mouth of a fool comes(F) a rod for his back,[a]
(G) but the lips of the wise will preserve them.

Proverbs 8
The Blessings of Wisdom
1Does not(A) wisdom call?Does not(B) understanding raise her voice?
2On(C) the heights beside the way,
at the crossroads she takes her stand;
3beside(D) the gates in front of(E) the town,
at the entrance of the portals she cries aloud:
4"To you, O(F) men, I call,
and my cry is to the children of man.
5O(G) simple ones, learn(H) prudence;
O(I) fools, learn sense.
6Hear, for I will speak(J) noble things,
and from my lips will come(K) what is right,
7for my(L) mouth will utter truth;
wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
8All the words of my mouth are righteous;
there is nothing(M) twisted or crooked in them.
9They are all(N) straight to him who understands,
and right to those who find knowledge.
10(O) Take my instruction instead of silver,
and knowledge rather than choice gold,
11(P) for wisdom is better than jewels,
and(Q) all that you may desire cannot compare with her.
12"I, wisdom, dwell with prudence,
and I find knowledge and(R) discretion.
13(S) The fear of the LORD is(T) hatred of evil.(U) Pride and arrogance and the way of evil
and(V) perverted speech I hate.
14I have(W) counsel and(X) sound wisdom;
I have insight;(Y) I have strength.
15By me(Z) kings reign,
and rulers decree what is just;
16by me princes rule,
and nobles, all who govern justly.[a]
17(AA) I love those who love me,
and(AB) those who seek me diligently find me.
18(AC) Riches and honor are with me,
(AD) enduring wealth and righteousness.
19My fruit is(AE) better than(AF) gold, even fine gold,
and my yield than(AG) choice silver.
20I walk in the way of righteousness,
in the paths of justice,
21granting an inheritance to those who love me,
and filling their treasuries.
22(AH) "The LORD(AI) possessed[b] me at the beginning of his work,[c]
the first of his acts(AJ) of old.
23Ages ago I was(AK) set up,
at the first,(AL) before the beginning of the earth.
24When there were no(AM) depths I was(AN) brought forth,
when there were no springs abounding with water.
25Before the mountains(AO) had been shaped,
(AP) before the hills, I was brought forth,
26before he had made the earth with its fields,
or the first of the dust of the world.
27When he(AQ) established the heavens, I was there;
when he drew(AR) a circle on the face of the deep,
28when he(AS) made firm the skies above,
when he established[d] the fountains of the deep,
29when he(AT) assigned to the sea its(AU) limit,
so that the waters might not transgress his command,
when he marked out(AV) the foundations of the earth,
30then(AW) I was beside him, like a master workman,
and I was daily his[e](AX) delight,
rejoicing before him always,
31(AY) rejoicing in his(AZ) inhabited world
and delighting in the children of man.
32"And now,(BA) O sons, listen to me:
(BB) blessed are those who keep my ways.
33(BC) Hear instruction and be wise,
and do not neglect it.
34(BD) Blessed is the one who listens to me,
watching daily at my gates,
waiting beside my doors.
35For(BE) whoever finds me(BF) finds life
and(BG) obtains favor from the LORD,
36but he who fails to find me(BH) injures himself;
all who(BI) hate me(BJ) love death

Forgotten God
So I finished reading Forgotten God by Francis Chan. I am not really good at reviews, so this will be brief. This book gave the best introduction to the Holy Spirit that I have ever read other than the Bible itself. Chan explained the role of the HS in great, understandable detail. Along with even better understanding of the Trinity. The fact that the HS is grieved when we commit the "littlest" of sins is very humbling, and should in fact automatically cause us to really think about what we are doing. Here are some quotes from the book that really impacted me:
"Nowhere in scripture do I see “balanced life with a little bit of God added in” as an ideal for us to emulate. Yet when I look at our churches this is exactly what I see: a lot of people who have added Jesus to their lives. People who have in a sense asked Him to join them on their life journey and follow them wherever they feel they should go, rather than following Him as we are commanded. The God of the universe is not something we can just add to our lives and keep on as we did before. The Spirit who raised Christ from the dead is not someone we can just call on when we want a little extra power in our lives. Jesus Christ did not die in order to follow us, He died and rose again so that we could forget everything else and follow Him to the cross, to true Life."
"The truth is that the Spirit of the living God is guaranteed to ask you to go somewhere or do something that you wouldn't normally want or choose to do....The Holy Spirit will mold you into the person you were made to be."
"God wants the praise for what we do in our lives. But if we never pray audacious, courageous prayers, how can He answer them? If we never follow Him to positions where we need Him, how can He show up and make His presence known?"
He also listed the different roles of the HS and ways that we should be accessing the HS in our daily lives. As Christians we do have the power to make it through whatever God has for us, but we don't even seem to utitlize it properly. We should be praying to the HS daily for His guidance, direction, and the strength to carry on in a world that seems ultimately more powerful than we could ever be on our own.
Thanks for listening

Christina Aguilera- Mercy On Me
Lord have mercy on my soul
For I have walked the sinful road
That I’m down on my knees
Lord have mercy on me, please
For I have walked the sinful road
That I’m down on my knees
Lord have mercy on me, please
Ohh yeah
Jesus, I must confess
That in all my loneliness
I’ve forsaken and I’ve sinned
Leaving fragments of a man so broken
[ Lyrics from http://www.songonlyrics.com/christina-aguilera-mercy-on-me-lyrics ]That in all my loneliness
I’ve forsaken and I’ve sinned
Leaving fragments of a man so broken
I could tell you what I’ve done
Or should I tell you where I went wrong?
Or should I tell you where I went wrong?
Well the more that I start to play
My deceitful, evil ways
Keep on growing stronger by the day
My deceitful, evil ways
Keep on growing stronger by the day
Oh lord have mercy on my soul
For I have walked a sinful road
So I’m gonna get down on my knees
Beg forgiveness to help set me free
Lord have mercy on me, please
For I have walked a sinful road
So I’m gonna get down on my knees
Beg forgiveness to help set me free
Lord have mercy on me, please
Mother Mary full of grace
In my weakness, I’ve lost faith
I’ve been careless, and I have been warned
And the devil inside me is torn
God bless the men that I have scorned
In my weakness, I’ve lost faith
I’ve been careless, and I have been warned
And the devil inside me is torn
God bless the men that I have scorned
Oh lord have mercy on my soul
For I have walked the sinful road
So I’m gonna get down on my knees
Beg forgiveness to help set me free
Lord have mercy on me, please
For I have walked the sinful road
So I’m gonna get down on my knees
Beg forgiveness to help set me free
Lord have mercy on me, please
Woah, woaa yeah yeah
Woa yeah yeah oh oh
Oh-oh yeah yeah yeah, ohh
Woa yeah yeah oh oh
Oh-oh yeah yeah yeah, ohh
So don’t let me fool around no more
Send your angels down to guide me through that door
Well I’ve gone and confessed my regrets
And I pray I’m not held in contempt
I’m so lost, and I need you to help me repent
Send your angels down to guide me through that door
Well I’ve gone and confessed my regrets
And I pray I’m not held in contempt
I’m so lost, and I need you to help me repent
Oh lord have mercy on my soul
Oh I’m begging, I’m pleeding, I’m needing
I want you to know
So I’m down upon my knees
Oh lord, I need forgiveness
I need forgiveness from you
Oh I’m begging, I’m pleeding, I’m needing
I want you to know
So I’m down upon my knees
Oh lord, I need forgiveness
I need forgiveness from you
Proverbs 4
1(A) Hear, O sons, a father’s instruction,
and be attentive, that you may(B) gain[a] insight,
2for I give you good(C) precepts;
do not forsake my teaching.
3When I was a son with my father,
(D) tender,(E) the only one in the sight of my mother,
4he(F) taught me and said to me,(G) "Let your heart hold fast my words;
(H) keep my commandments, and live.
5(I) Get wisdom; get(J) insight;
do not forget, and do not turn away from the words of my mouth.
6Do not forsake her, and she will keep you;
(K) love her, and she will guard you.
7(L) The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom,
and whatever you get, get(M) insight.
8Prize her highly, and she will exalt you;
she will(N) honor you(O) if you embrace her.
9She will place on your head(P) a graceful garland;
she will bestow on you a beautiful crown."
10(Q) Hear,(R) my son, and accept my words,
that(S) the years of your life may be many.
11I have(T) taught you the way of wisdom;
I have led you in the paths of uprightness.
12When you walk,(U) your step will not be hampered,
and(V) if you run, you will not stumble.
13(W) Keep hold of instruction; do not let go;
guard her, for she is your(X) life.
14(Y) Do not enter the path of the wicked,
and do not walk in the way of the evil.
15Avoid it; do not go on it;
turn away from it and pass on.
16For they(Z) cannot sleep unless they have done wrong;
they are robbed of sleep unless they have made someone stumble.
17For they eat the bread of wickedness
(AA) and drink the wine of violence.
18But(AB) the path of the righteous is like(AC) the light of dawn,
which shines(AD) brighter and brighter until(AE) full day.
19(AF) The way of the wicked is like deep(AG) darkness;
they do not know over what they(AH) stumble.
20(AI) My son, be attentive to my words;
incline your ear to my sayings.
21(AJ) Let them not escape from your sight;
(AK) keep them within your heart.
22For they are(AL) life to those who find them,
and healing to all their[b] flesh.
23Keep your heart with all vigilance,
for(AM) from it flow(AN) the springs of life.
24Put away from you(AO) crooked speech,
and put(AP) devious talk far from you.
25(AQ) Let your eyes look directly forward,
and your gaze be straight before you.
26(AR) Ponder[c] the path of your feet;
(AS) then all your ways will be sure.
27(AT) Do not swerve to the right or to the left;
turn your foot away from evil.
and be attentive, that you may(B) gain[a] insight,
2for I give you good(C) precepts;
do not forsake my teaching.
